It's all good in the woods.

About the author:

Born in Upstate New York's Finger Lakes region and raised in her family's custom butcher shop, Melissa's childhood was spent exploring wooded hills, fishing local lakes and learning the ins-and-outs of butchering and processing wild- and domestic animals. She has since taken her love for the outdoors to Cabela's World Headquarters in Sidney, Neb., where her writing degree is put to good use creating and delivering innovative educational content for a variety of print and digital outlets that other passionate outdoorsmen and women are dying to get their hands on.

Within her first year at Cabela's, her extensive butchering knowledge earned her the role of lead writer and chief content manager for the first edition of the Hunter's Harvest magazine, which earned national recognition from Field & Stream.

When she's not generating authentic brand-supporting content for Cabela's, Melissa can be found giving back to the small, supportive community of Sidney, Nebraska. She teaches toddler gymnastics classes at a local dance studio and works closely with the Sidney High School cheerleading team hosting weekly conditioning and tumbling clinics. Her love for the outdoors has also pushed her to take on the challenges of a whole new world – stalking the western plains of Nebraska; boning out deer in the field, learning how to catch fish on flies and trying to talk to elk.
